Sam Hatton's late winner handed Manchester Maccabi 1st the derby bragging rights over rivals South Manchester.

Hatton’s 75th header from Dan Rubenstein’s corner was enough to keep Maccabi in the title shake-up at the top of the Premier Division.

Manchester Maccabi assistant-manager Tony Gellman said: "It was another hard-fought win where we needed to dig deep.

"We had been frustrated by the South goalkeeper who made a strong of fine saves to keep them in it. But we kept plugging away and got our rewards late on."

Maccabi take on Waterloo in the final of the Manchester County Cup on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Manchester Maccabi 2nds saw their title aspirations dented after slipping up 1-0 to Platts Lane.
