The Lions lacked penetration and cutting edge against Baldock, failing to score for the first time since November 11, as their five-match winning run was halted.
“The better team won on the day,” admitted Landesberg. “Baldock were stronger in midfield, but the most disappointing aspect was I don’t remember us creating any chances.”
The Lions face a busy schedule over the coming weeks. They host Baldock Town in the league on March 7 before meeting them again on March 20 in the final of the Herts Centenary Trophy. Landesberg’s troops are scheduled to face runaway leaders Southall in the final of the Division One Cup in April.
“I’d definitely have settled for third in the league and have reached two cup finals at the start of the season. The boys are hurting now but hopefully we’ll have something to show for our efforts.”
