PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY
London Lions Reserves 11 Hinton FC 1
A makeshift London Lions Reserves to simply had too much for Hinton FC - with six players on target in an 11-1 success.
Despite so many guys away, it was still a strong Lions side that completed pre-season with a resounding victory.
Hinton, old friends from the Herts County, were nowhere near as inferior as the scoreline suggests. Going forward they carried a significant threat that needed Lions to be on form at the back and required Jordan Davidson to pull of a couple of fine saves to all but keep a clean sheet - Hinton's goal coming with the game's final kick.
However, Lions made the visitors pay for a lack of solidity at the back with some insisive passing and clinical finishing. TJ Keterman got the ball rolling with a fine run and finish bfore doubling his and Lions' tally after Dan Green teed him up.
The favour was soon returned as Dan Green finished with aplomb, the young forward had a hat-trick to his name before half time with two more composed finishes.
In between, Guy Helman finished off a quite brilliant move involving Liron Mannie and George Fierstone, each with a quite sublime touch in the build-up, with Mannie himself making it seven just before the break with an audacious dink.
Being a friendly, Hinton's hapless keeper was taken out of the firing line, Lions' Berliner taking over and enjoying a half that kept him busy.
Lions defended strongly but were again irresistable in attack. Mannie completed his hat-trick with two cracking strikes, Soutar slammed home at the far post after more excellent work from Fierstone before Jordan Marks capped off a fine final 20 minutes with a rasping drive that found the bottom corner.
