Lee wary ahead of SA crunch clash

articlemain

The Over 35 Masters football team must beat South Africa in their final group game on Thursday to reach the last four.

Paul Linger scored a late winner as they beat USA 1-0 in their opener. This was followed by a goalless draw against Mexico.

Manager Darryl Lee said: “If we beat South Africa we’re out of the group but ideally we want to avoid Argentina in the semis. I have been surprised how defence teams have been against us. Mexico packed 10 men behind the ball.”

Victory against SA would set up a clash against Israel, Brasil or Argentina.
