The Israeli midfielder needed only nine minutes to make his presence felt, firing home a low drive from the edge of the box.

Kayal said: “I’m happy to be back playing after a long time out injured. The rehab went well and I was happy to play my first game.

“The goal helped me take more confidence. Everyone played well and we controlled the game from the beginning until the end.

“Kayal’s compatriot, Tomer Hemed, added Albion’s second goal midway through the second half and the midfielder was pleased to set up his team-mate for his 10th goal of the season.

“The game is always still alive at 1-0, so we needed the second goal to make the game more quiet and relaxing for us.

“I’m happy Tomer, who is a great friend, scored again and that I got the assist. It was a great win for us and I’m looking forward to the next round against Lincoln or Ipswich.”
