Year Eight starlets Josh Tapnack and Oliver Tibber scored hat-tricks in the 9-0 mauling of Crest Academy. First-half strikes from Tapnack and Dan Brettel had put JFS into a strong position, but they simply blew their opponents away in the second half, with super-sub Tibber scoring three times in less than 30 minutes. A penalty from Alex Brickman and a strike from Jamie Hall added the gloss.
Year Eight manager Mr Bartram said: “This team have deserved their success as they haven’t lost or drawn a single Brent game in two years.
“They showed how hard they can work and just how good they are today. It’s a great boost for them before the London Cup final in a couple of weeks’ time.”
He went on to say:“JFS is very proud of their achievements and I think we have a seriously talented group here who can continue on to great things.”
The Year Nine final was a much tighter affair, with Queens Park Community School looking to retain the trophy for the fourth consecutive year. The holders opened the scoring before strikes from Zan Appleson-Fidler and Amit Waiss turned the game in JFS’s favour.
QPCS fought back and scored an equaliser but the JFS finished strongly, with breakaway goals from Ben Weitzman and Romeo Mimouni securing a 4-2 win.
“What a performance from a truly outstanding team,” said JFS Year Nine team manager Mr Hampson. “The team deserve this victory as they have worked so hard as a collective unit throughout the season.
“The boys are immensely talented and they will only go from strength to strength, having made excellent teams look decidedly average. Now we’re looking forward to the 2019/20 season.”
