REFEREE
-----------------------
FAIRLOP FC
Guy Weisselberg (CB) - appearing for the first time this season and almost single handedly pocketed Adam Ellis. He made a crunching tackle on the striker early on and barely put a foot wrong throughout his 75-minute cameo
Harrison Grant (M) - ran the line superbly, running his socks off and when the chance fell his way early in the second half, he coolly slotted home our second and his third of the campaign
-----------------------
OAKWOOD B
Josh Pugh (CM) - on his debut, had an excellent first half and was at the heart of everything positive we tried to do
-----------------------
NORTH LONDON RAIDERS
Oli Misner (GK) - commanded his area
Richard Winton and Alex Newman - worked their socks off
Gav Fox and Tal Cohen - were rocks
Scott Waissel had his mojo back
Aron Gale (S) - looks like he is going to score every time in front of goal now
Ben Rosen and Yarden Sharon (CM) - were class as always
Josh Bloom (CB) - a complete rock at the heart of the defence today. JC readers will be more accustomed to seeing Bloom mentioned for his achievements at the other end of the pitch but he helped us out at the back today and boy did he do his job. Their big striker had nothing between Gav Fox and Bloom's marshalling. Josh must have made 30 interceptions in the second half
Matt Warner (CM) - skipper-for-the-day worked his socks off in the middle of the park. Until now his biggest attribute has been his set-pieces, but he showed a different side to his game today. Strong in the tackle, composed on the ball. The Oakwood midfielders didn't have a moment's rest, he absolutely bossed the game
Charlie Kasler (CAM) - technically the best player on the pitch. His free-kick was "ridiculous" and his assist for Gale's winner wouldn't have been out of place in the professional game. Really showed up today. Oakwood couldn't handle Kas
-----------------------
REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A
James Berkley (CM) - sensational first half performance from RJC's "Moussa Dembele. Two great headers and a stunning individual goal from the RJC A steamroller
-----------------------
FC TEAM
Josh Morris (RB) - quick fire hat-trick in second half from right wing-back
Mitch Young (S) - four goals, including one worldie
Conor Perl (S) - 5 goals, could have had 10 on a different day, including one worldie
Richard Salmon (S) - 2 goals unselfish play throughout
Dave Cohen (M) - his manager "lost count of the number of assists"
-----------------------
NORTH LONDON RAIDERS MASTERS
Tony Plaskow (CB) - outstanding at centre back
Nicky Skone (CM) - superb in centre midfield
-----------------------
HERTSWOOD VALE
Jonny Kaye (CM) – started off the game on the Left Wing before moving into the centre of the park once we found ourselves 2-0 down. Was an absolutely pivotal player in our comeback, providing some much-needed calmness on the ball, allowing us to get control of the play in the midfield and get the ball up the pitch. His best performance of the season so far
Josh Wood (CM) – another quality performance from the ever-present Wood. Alongside Jonny Kaye, he helped turn around the game with an assured presence that relieved a lot of the pressure on the defence, winning header after header and playing some great passes across the pitch
James Millet (CAM) – there’s still so much to come from Vale’s no 10. After a frustrating performance across the team in the first 30 minutes, Millet’s inch-perfect free-kick found Ben Mandel to start the comeback at a crucial time. Finished the match with three assists and one goal to take his stats to eight assists and seven goals in just six games this season. On another day, he would have had a hat-trick. Another crucial player in our comeback with a solid display from the man dubbed Vale’s James Milner
Ben Mandel (RM) – Ben has been nothing but scintillating on his return to the Vale this season after a season-long loan at Straw Hat Pirates. Vale’s answer to Forest Gump is on some serious form, rivalling Millet in both the assists and scoring charts this season. He has a strong commitment to the cause and is a huge team player. Scored the first goal in our comeback at a crucial time, before grabbing his second later on in his secondary no.9 position. On another day could’ve had a hat-trick. Deserves his MAN OF THE MATCH nomination
