Israel cycling Academy wins again

articlemain

Israel’s Elite men’s Cycling Team Academy were toasting a fifth success when Lubos Malovec sprinted to victory in the Czech Republic Cup event, the 104km GP Hohovec Morava.

Formed four months ago, the race marked the Academy team’s first win in Europe, with Malovec, the under-23 champion from the city of Zilina, in outstanding form as he won the U23 and the Elite categories.

"We worked hard until the last 2 Km. when two riders broke away. I closed the gap” recalled Malovec, “and went for a sprint 300m before the finish line."

Cycling Academy Team manager Ran Margoliot commented that he was “delighted” with the style of winning the race, something he believes is a part of the Academy’s philosophy: being aggressive and daring.

Other team members attacked the peleton constantly and it was Dan Turek and Patryk Talaga who led the breakaways ahead of the 251 riders.
