MGBSFL DIVISION ONE
OAKWOOD B 2 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 1

Jason Stein praised the character of his team after an 89th minute winner from Bobby Abrams saw 10-man Oakwood B return to winning ways as they came from a goal down to beat North London Raiders B.

Raiders led this MGBSFL Division One encounter 1-0 at half-time and things got worse for Oakwood after midfielder Dan Ash was dismissed.

Daniel Seligman gave them a lifeline with a goal before Abrams sparked scenes of wild celebration with a late, late show giving the 10 men three points.

Oakwood manager Jason Stein told JC Sport: "It was vital that we got back to winning ways this week and we certainly did it the hard way on what was probably the most exciting morning of my tenure at Oaks B.

"We played great football today and made loads of chances but, like last week, we were hit with a sucker punch against the run of play to leave us trailing at the break.

"But we're a side who never give up. Dan Ash was sent off and that left us up against it but I had complete faith in my side. However, I would like to apologise for my over-zealous touchline behaviour. In not so many words, I wanted my players to know that I believed in them, that we were the better side and that Raiders B could not live us. That passion was, at times, misplaced.

"When you win a game like that so late on it makes all the hassle worth it."
