JAFFA 3 JERUSALEM 2

Nir Madmon was the star man as Jaffa edged home in a high-scoring contest against Jerusalem, thanks to a late strike from Eyal Hoffman.

It was a clash of two in-form teams looking to stay in touch with leaders Ra'anana. The first half was of high quality and the momentum shifted quite a few times during the first 45.

Jaffa enjoyed the early pressure, with Rotem Elkalay and Nir Hacohen coming close to scoring. But Jerusalem gained confidence and started puting the pressure on until it paid off, with a well-worked goal from Mordy Weiler.

Jaffa dug deep and super-sub Sam Silverberg sent a brilliant cross to Josh Bar who thumped home the equaliser in just before half-time.

The second half was all about Jaffa at first, and within minutes they were 2-1 up, with Bar registering his second.

Although Jaffa continued to control proceedings, the very talented Jerusalem attack continued to threaten, and indeed they managed to pounce on a very rare defensive mistake by Jaffa, with Weiler capitalising with his and Jerualem's second.

The orange army piled on the pressure towards the end and Jerusalem eventually buckled when Eyal Hoffman picked up the ball just inside the opponents half, charged skillfully into their box and slotted the ball in the net to determine the final score and secure the points for Jaffa.
