Hahn takes hotseat at Woodford

articlemain

Mitch Hahn has been appointed caretaker-manager of Woodford Wanderers following the departure of Tony Charles.

Charles informed his players of his decision to step down after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat against holders Hendon United A in the Cyril Anekstein Cup.

Citing work and family commitments, Charles led Woodford to the MGBSFL Division One title last season.
He said: “I had a clear objective of getting the team promoted, but an increased workload has resulted in me coaching six days a week.

"I’m unable to give the job the attention it needs, and, more importantly, my daughter, who, at this stage, needs me more."

Woodford chairman Alex Aviram commented: “Achieving promotion as champions with this group was a miracle and I want to thank Tony for all his hard work over the past season and a half.

"However results this year haven’t been good enough and accepting Tony’s resignation is the right move for this club."
