Goldstein keeps Redbridge gunning for glory

MGBSFL PREMIER DIVISION
FAITHFOLD A 1 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 3

A man-of-the-match performance from Jason Goldstein guided title-chasing Redbridge Jewish Care A to "one of their easier wins of the season" against a gutsy Faithfold team at the Hive.

Faithfold defended resolutely in the first half, with Steve Summers, Ben Solossi, James Berkley all spurning chances and the home keeper pulled off a few special saves.

Half-time saw the wind winning this particular game, but Redbridge just needed patience and the game would be there for the taking.

After a few minutes of the second half, Sam Sollosi picked the ball up from a mistake by the Faithfold defence, drove in and scored from around eight yards out.

This seemed to settle the boys down and with Jason Goldstein having his best game since his debut in September, chances kept on coming.

The game was settled by a piece of futsal magic from Sam Sollosi with a driving run, a few step overs and a really beautiful finish in the corner of the goal.

Goal three with 15 minutes to go saw great Redbridge interplay and eventually the ball broke to Garfinkle who tried a cheeky back-heel into the goal, the keeper saved it but the ball broke into the area and a brilliant header from man-of-the-match, Jason Goldstein settled the match.

RJC conceded a needless penalty was conceded with five minutes to go and Sam Leader converted a deserved consolation goal for Faithfold, who "had chased shadows the whole game but never gave up".
