London Lions brought the curtain down on their season with a 2-1 victory over Amersham Town in what is likely to be their last ever game at Vauxhall Road.

Lee Cash gave the hosts a 1-0 lead on 15 minutes, which Lions took into the break, but the scoreline should have been a little more emphatic as the home side missed several gilt-edged opportunities.

With Amersham still in the game, those missed chances came back to haunt Lions as the visitors equalised on 64 minutes.

To be fair, Lions always looked like they could score another and on 76 minutes they did just that. Guy Morris spotted Andy Glynne's run into the box and with a sublime dink over the top, the latter ran straight threw and slotted the ball home.

Lions started the season with a win and ended it in the same manner.

Lions boss Tony Gold said: "There were some huge positives to take from an extremely testing, challenging and difficult season, but I'm sure those committed few who were there through thick and thin, will be better for the experience."
