GB’s Under 18 netball are confident that the squad competing in Israel is their strongest yet. Eight girls from London are joined by one from Essex, two from Manchester and one from Birmingham.
The group have been training together for six hours every month and preparation concluded with a tournament in Chelmsford against some of the best sides in the country.
Manager Harriet Thornton said: “We gave a promising performance. The girls have all been working hard on their own fitness and preparation for the Maccabiah. All are playing regularly for local teams in their area gaining valuable match play experience before the Games.”
Juggling the pressures of GCSE and A Level exams, Thornton said: “Opposition will undoubtedly be very strong but we will give it our best shot and hope to be in the medal placings.”
