MGBSFL DIVISION TWO
FAITHFOLD B 3 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE C 1
Faithfold made a shaky start, with Redbridge having the majority of the chances in the first half. However, the predatory Fogelman only needed one chance to open the scoring, latching on to a clever flick from Avi Garson before coolly slotting his shot past the young keeper.
RJC lost their heads in a bizarre five minute spell in the second half, which resulted in a red card for Daniel Lassman, the Apprentice finalist from a few years ago, and a handful of yellows shown to Redbridge players for dissent towards referee Paul Dobkin.
Faithfold made it hard for themselves and sat deeper and deeper until the Essex team found the equaliser after a couple of missed clearances.
It took until the 80th minute for Faithfold to break down the resilient 10-man Redbridge team. Jeremy Teacher hooked the ball back into the danger zone following the corner and Fogelman rose superbly to head home.
Redbridge nearly found a way back into the game after the winger charged into the box and the Faithfold left-back put a foot out but made no contact with the player. Ref Paul Dobkin excellently spotted the dive and waved play on.
It took until injury time for Fogelman to kill it off. Teacher played him in once again but with still a lot to do, Fogelman raced down half the length of the pitch in impressive manner before faking a shot which sat the keeper down before firing it in the empty net.
