Maccabi GB Netball won their first match of the season, comfortably beating Shelley 59-5
The team's last meeting with Shelley resulted in a draw so this result shows how well the team is improving and how much improvement all the players have made in such a short space of time.
Having lead the match from start to finish, Roseanne Winthrop commented: "Following a number of poor defeats we are really pleased to finally record our first victory.
"Everyone played extremely well; the attackers did a great job at keeping the ball in the offensive end of the court and when the ball came into our defensive end the defenders sent it straight back up the court to the net.
"There was some fantastic shooting as demonstrated by the outstanding score.
"The team is hoping that this fantastic win will boost the confidence of the players, which will result in more victories."
Maccabi GB’s Netball team train every Wednesday and is part of Maccabi GB's 'Sport for Everyone' programme. The training is split into under 18 and over 18 and everyone is welcome to come along.
