Adam Burchell and Adam Bolle scored to give GB a 2-0 lead opening group match against Sweden. Burchell collected the ball in space on the left flank before cutting in and rifling his shot past the keeper at his near post. He turned provider to set up the second for Adam Bolle before substitutes Jack Mattey and Max Kyte added the gloss.
A delighted Landesberg told JC Sport: “It’s always important to win your first game in tournament football and we’ll take the clean sheet. “Sweden were well-organised and tough opponents but we stuck to our game-plan and were pretty solid all round."

U16 FUTSAL - BEAT HUNGARY 5-0
Goals from Dylan Phillips, Jay Isaacs (2) and Louis Sampson (2) earned Maccabi GB a resounding 5-0 win over Hungary.
GB manager Scott Warren said: "It was an incredible start against the hosts. The boys showed real maturity and composure, and made myself, Jamie and Tamas extremely proud."

U18 FUTSAL - BEAT HUNGARY 9-7
Joey Gold led the way with a four-goal salvo as Maccabi GB edged past hosts Hungary 9-7 in a thrilling first match. Further strikes from Josh Davidson (2), Josh Morris, Brandon Myers and Tony Anthony sealed the win.
GB staged a brilliant comeback after trailing 1-4 inside the opening five minutes. They recovered to 3-4 at half-time and maintained their momentum in the second half to lead 6-4. Hungary rallied to make it 6-6 but GB finished the stronger to win the match with three more goals.
GB joint-manager Adam Lustigman told JC Sport: "After a poor start, we saw great spirit and resilience from the boys who never let their heads go down and once we played our own game, we were able to take control. It was very exciting and entertaining, especially for the masses of family, friends and other sports that came to support us."

U16 BOYS FOOTBALL - LOST 3-1 vs NETHERLANDS
Joe Bregman's goal proved little more than scant consolation as Maccabi GB went down 3-1 against the Netherlands.
GB assistant-manager Sammy Kingston said: “Today was the first Maccabi football experience for all these boys in our team. Our preparation for these Games has been fantastic and when you step out for the first game, nerves are huge and maybe that got the better of some of the boys today.
“But we know that we have five games to go and some huge game to get good results to put us in contention for a medal.”
