David Domb has urged his Hyde Park Rovers side to pull out all the stops in this week’s red-hot student clash with Oakhill Lions.
Leeds-based Rovers have won two of their opening three league games and have scored 14 goals in the process.
Rovers smashed six past Leeds Maccabi 3rd without reply last weekend and Domb wants more of the same against their Manchester rivals.
“It’s just like any other game for me but of course as students, you want to beat the other lot,” said Domb.
“It’s not as feisty as it used to be but we’re going there to win the game and continue our encouraging start.
“Against Leeds we played some fantastic one-touch football and not many teams could live with us.
“We’ve got a lot of new players but if you watched us, you’d think we had been together for years.”
Rovers have also yet to have a player cautioned or sent off – a welcome relief to Domb after last year’s off-field problems.
“We’ve been very well disciplined this season,” he added.
“We’re playing some really good stuff, the attitude has been excellent and I’m really pleased with our progress.”
