Danny Caro's Quote of the Week: February 28

articlemain

The MGBSFL's basement battle wasn't a sell-out, but it did produce this pearler.

JONATHAN COHEN (Temple Fortune) - "I want to commend my players and also the players/management of Boca Jewniors. In recent weeks we have been discussing the future of the league with many teams folding etc and to keep going every week when you are at the bottom of the league of the bottom rung of Jewish football takes real commitment. There was no signs of any lack of effort from either team and I think the rest of the league should take note"

BEST OF THE REST

- DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon Utd SC A) - QUOTE 1 - "after the shock of last week, we had the choice to either feel sorry for ourselves or to get back on the horse and prove to ourselves that last week was a one off blip. thankfully we chose the latter and put in a really ruthless performance against a pretty decent and competitive Camden team"

- DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon Utd SC A) - QUOTE 2 - "If we play like we played today there may still be some light in this strange unpredictable season of ours"

- OLI LESLIE (Harmen) - "Like last year, we have exited the cup due to injuries and suspensions - James Gershfield, Elliott stern, Daniel Green, Alex Levack, Jonny Haik, Oliver Sade, Ricky Rinder, George Fierstone, Marc Foster and Aviel Schwarz. That is 10 players who would walk into most first teams in the Premier League"

- DAVID GORDON (FC Team C) - QUOTE 1 - "It was our best performance of the season. We had a right midfielder playing left back, a left back playing centre back and a right midfielder playing right back but we restricted them to long range shots for pretty much the whole game"

- DAVID GORDON (FC Team C) - QUOTE 2 - "We have now lost just once in our last seven. We have a number of teams around us still to play and the aim is to finish in the top half at the very least. However, we have to negotiate our way past Scrabble this weekend so I should probably put the big talk on hold for a week or so!"

- JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - QUOTE 1 - "I do believe a point at Fairlop is never to be considered a bad result when taken in isolation. I think at the start of the season most people would accept a point over there. It's a hard place to go with all the elements against the visitors"

- JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - QUOTE 2 - "On 3G I fancy us against anyone. That'll be a great game with all the pressure on Woodford. Win and the title is all theirs so I hope the Woodford players don't feel that huge level of pressure"
