There were some sensational strikes on Matchday 25 of the MGBSFL, but in the end there could only be one winner, as described by Samuel Marchant.
JOSH BLOOM (ML Lions B) - if this goal doesn’t get goal of the season, let alone goal of the week, the system must be rigged! Sammy Kingston took a corner on the right-hand side of the box, and the ball was headed out to Jamie Kyte just outside the box on the right, who volleyed a cross with the outside of his foot. The ball came towards Bloom who performed what can only be described as a flying scorpion kick, connecting with the ball flush on the back of his heel sending it into the top right hand corner. Not a single man on the pitch could believe what they witnessed. The referee then jokingly threatened Bloom after his celebration by saying “I’m awarding you a yellow card because you’re just not allowed to score goals like that!”. It was truly awesome. I guess Zlatan Ibrahimovic now has company with scorpion kick goals. I preferred Blooms!

BEST OF THE REST
- MARC WOOLFE (NL Raiders C) - fantastic team move by Raiders saw Dan Tan whip a cross in from the right where Alex Elf won it and chested it to Woolfe on the edge of the box who volleyed the ball into the net off the underside of the crossbar - a proper team goal
- ZAK McLEOD (Scrabble FC) - two weeks running now but a 40-yard dipping shot from McLeod that gave the FC Team keeper no chance
- LORIAN MADANES (FC Team B) - 20-yard free-kick took one step run up and curled into top corner
- RICHARD SALMON - 15-pass move finished off by Salmon
- DAVID WOOLMAN (Oakwood A) - GOAL 1 - was outstanding from his left foot into the top corner. Outstanding striker and worth of any goal of the week award
- DAVID WOOLMAN (Oakwood A) - GOAL 3 - third goal to take the March ball. Took it down on the left wing, brought it inside on to his right foot and banged it into the top corner from 20 yards
- ALEX AVIRAM (Woodford Wanderers) - lit the touchpaper against Oakwood with "certainly one of the best goals we have scored this season"
- BRETT SCHUMAN (Boca Jewniors) - sensational 30-yard half-volley against Faithfold
- JOE COHEN (Faithfold B) - after some neat defensive work, Daniel Kosky claimed a high ball and threw it out to Joe Cohen on the left touchline. Just inside his own half, Joe had two men in green and white stripes breaking ahead of him, both shadowed by a defender. Thanks to Kosky's quick reactions, Faithfold were in a promising 3v2 situation. Joe carried the ball 15 yards into the opponents half, cut onto his right foot and unleashed a blinder into the top right hand corner of the net. With the keeper stranded near the penalty spot, all he could do was watch the ball sail over his head. Certainly nothing the keeper could do about that one and not the kind of goal we would expect to see every week! It came much to the relief of the Faithfold outfit who were under pressure at 1-0 from a good Los Blancos team
