Here are the star men from Division Two on Matchday 26 of the MGBSFL.
1. ADAM SIMON (Catford & Bromley Maccabi) - "worthy of a big mention following an incredible save down to his left to somehow turn a goal bound header from his own man round the post"
2. LIAM STEIN (NL Raiders C) - "a real captain's performance. Consistent as ever, didn't put a foot wrong at the back and a threat when he went forward"
3. JOSH LEWIS (L’Equipe) - "had a blinding game against Boca Jewniors, flying up and down the left flank – a brick wall at one end and creating chance after chance at the other. His performance was topped off with a well-deserved goal, now meaning that he has scored in every one of L’Equipe’s nine seasons. The only outfield player in history to always have a bottle of water with him throughout every game to prevent any potential (and likely) passing out, he ran himself so hard into the ground that on this occasion, he even had two bottles of water close at hand. A L’Equipe legend through and through"
4. ANTHONY GOODMAKER (Scrabble FC) - "Goodie has his best game of the season for us today at the heart of the back four and was always a danger with his long throws and when he came forward to join the attack"
5. JOSH PUGH (Athletic Bilbaum) - "a stunning free-kick and dictated the tempo throughout"
6. ADAM NEWMAN (Scrabble FC) - "so committed in every tackle and left nothing on the pitch"
7. RICHARD ADAMS (Catford & Bromley Maccabi) - "controlled the game against Scrabble, won everything and led the team superbly. "Best performance" Jeff Gotch has seen from him in 20 years"
8. CHARLES BRAUNSTEIN (NL Raiders C) - "60 minutes at the back and 60 in the middle - Braunstein was as solid as he's been all season and his fitness and electric pace were just what Raiders needed towards the end. Capped with two fine goals as well"
9. JAMES BELL (L’Equipe) - "dominated" the park alongside Mark Singer
10. BEN BELL (Athletic Bilbaum) - "a constant menace and took his goal delightfully to celebrate his birthday"
11. MARK SMITH (L'Equipe) - excellent performance capped by two well-taken finishes and an assist
MANAGER: Jeff Gotch (Catford & Bromley Maccabi)
