Cup holders Redbridge A were dramatically dumped out of the JC League Cup as a late winner from Jamie Kent clinched a memorable win for John Nitka's men.

Alon Hershkorn put Brixton ahead from the penalty spot six minutes into the second half after Kent had been brought down in the area.

Redbridge equalised on 70 minutes and went 2-1 up on 73 minutes with strikes from Adam Stolerman and Danny Sugarman, but Brixton did not their heads drop with Michael Posner slotted home to make it 2-2

Brixton fought for every ball and the winner came on 81 minutes when alon Hershkorn made a terrific run to centre the ball for Kent to head home.

A delighted John Nitka told JC Sport: "We were outstanding today from our defence through midfield to the forwards giving 100 per cent and showing once again we are good enough to beat any team.

"We are now 90 minutes away from the final and in the run in we've beaten Neasden A and Redbridge A. Who's next?"

Redbridge boss Eilon Kennet told JC Sport: "The result was very disappointing, but that's been the story of our season really.

"Once again we had so many chances to win the game in the first half, which we didn't take.

"As a result, teams go in at half time, feeling that they've weathered the storm, when they should be dead and buried.

"Full marks to Brixton for never giving up, even when we were 2-1 up with 10 minutes to go.

"It just goes to show that if we are going to get something out of this season, we need to start taking our chances. We have to toughen up in our second half performances.

"There's a still a lot to play for, starting with our game against Neasden on Sunday."
