MGBSFL DIVISION ONE
TEMPLE FORTUNE 3 LOS BLANCOS 5
Braces from Joe Davis and Svi Freedman guided Blancos to victory in their opening match of the season.
Holder saluted Davis and Freedman for producing "moments of sheer class" on a day when few defenders on show covered themselves in glory.
Simon Moses completed the scoring on a memorable morning for the Blancos boys.
Jubilant Blancos joint-manager Joel Holder told JC Sport; "Overall it was a decent performance from the boys on Sunday. We only had 12 players available and at times played some decent football and looked threatening.
"There were moments of sheer class, most notably from Joe Davis when he drove with the ball midway through the second half and unleashed an unstoppable shot past the keeper. Special mention also to Svi Freedman who delivered two great goals at key moments in the second half.
"At times, we looked powerful, energetic and aggressive, but we will need to show these characteristics on a more consistent basis.
"We have a great group of lads here, the squad is well-balanced and I am confident that we will challenge for the title come the end of the season."
Fortune's goals came through Eshad Rahiv, Hayden Smith and Jason Lindsay and boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "It was a poor performance from Fortune, we just didn't click and allowed Blancos to take control of the game and they deservedly won.
"I'm looking for a big response next week."
