MGBSFL DIVISION TWO
FAITHFOLD B 1 BAYERN MINCHA 4
Bayern co-boss Holder told JC Sport: "It was a relatively comfortable win for the boys and arguably the best we have played this season over 90 minutes."
It was a relatively quiet opening 20 minutes with neither team looking too threatening. Adam Ellis was looking dangerous up front with his pace and had a couple of early shots which went over.
Bayern forged ahead on 20 minutes when a corner whipped in by Sam Leader was met on the volley by player-manger Alon Pinhas who slotted home for his first of the season.
Bayern were settling in well before Fink picked up the ball 35 yards out before taking a touch and unleashing an absolute rocket of an effort into the top corner. Holder told JC Sport: "No keeper in any league would’ve got near it and while we have been blessed with many great goals this season, that one topped the lot."
Dan Yossman gave Faithfold a lifeline in the second half from a set-piece but any chances of a comeback were thwarted moments later as super-sub Adam Herszaft came on for debutant Josh Levy. He and was straight involved with Ellis running through on goal before unselfishly passing it to Herszaft to score into the empty net.
Bayern were playing good football at this stage before a 30 yard Pinhas free-kick was superbly tipped onto the bar to prevent another fantastic goal.
Herszaft completed the job on the 75 minutes, finding space in the box before nearly slotting it into the bottom corner.
Holder told JC Sport: Overall, we are delighted with the win and are making good progress towards our promotion ambitions."
