But about the real issue of this election - the coming public expenditure cuts - there is virtual silence, principally because of Labour's outrageous decision to cancel the public spending review last year.
This is already shaping up to be the dirtiest UK election campaigns in memory and it hasn't even officially begun.
The next five weeks in the UK are not for the faint-hearted.
