The Importance of Loving Bees

What would happen if there were a honey drought around Rosh Hashanah? As we have moved through this year, I have taken note with increasing alarm to various reports regarding the demise of the bee population. What would happen if we reached Rosh Hashanah and had no honey to dip our apples into or make our cakes with? Would we have to ration our children and would they in the future not understand what Winnie the Pooh’s favourite tipple was? I know of a few members who keep hives and having been fortunate to taste the golden, sticky produce of one of these, can bear witness to its superiority over supermarket varieties.
