I think it was Trevor Chinn who once said that only countries like North Korea and Zimbabwe needed to use government propaganda.
Proving his point, the Israeli government ministry for diaspora and information (what a mouthful that reminds us of darker times in Europe), headed by Yuli Edelstein -- who is in London next week -- has set up Masbirim, a website so amateur and juvenile it makes Kim Jong-Il's efforts appear like Orson Wells's.
It's in Hebrew and aimed at how Israelis can explain their country to foreigners. Someone had a budget for this and wasted it on faux TV reports and words of encouragement for the Israeli tourist or representative tour groups going abroad.
If you know Hebrew, it's really worth a larf and a half.
