On lazy mornings when we don't have to be anywhere getting the pans out for breakfast is fine. Today I had to rush to work.
That's when my Nutribullet comes into its own.
This mango, banana, ginger and mint smoothie is ready in minutes. With a good helping of yoghurt in it, it staves off hunger for a respectable time. No need to nosh until someone waves the first cinnamon ball under my nose.
I used what I had to hand, but feel free to swap in your favourite fruits - or even a handful of spinach or kale to feel even more sanctimonious.
I've given weights for the fruits to get the proportions exact, but it will taste fine if your banana is bigger or smaller or you have a diffferent amount of mango.
Ingredients:
150g mango (about half a small mango) as ripe as possible
100g banana, a small banana also as ripe as possible
6g of fresh ginger, peeled and cut into small pieces (about 2cm square)
8 mint leaves
100ml milk, I used skimmed - swap in non-dairy if you prefer
50g natural yoghurt - again feel free to swap in non-dairy if you prefer
Method:
Pop it all in a blender and whizz until smooth. If you want it really cold you could add some ice before blending.
