LSE students get it

Deplorable as the incident in which a Jewish LSE student was assaulted is, one positive aspect can at least be taken from it.

In similar circumstances, university authorities all too often react half-heartedly or even not at all.

There will certainly be those wondering why the students involved have not simply been thrown out. That may happen when the institution itself imposes its punishment. But the students's union has, meanwhile, acted intelligently, barring the offenders from their most cherished activities and insisting that they meet a Holocaust survivor. The students's response is a model of good sense.
