If some senior university staff appear to lack a sense of propriety, the members of Edinburgh's student union who voted for a boycott of Israeli goods appear, to be blunt, to be simply idiots. So they want to boycott Israeli goods? Let them.
Let them throw away their mobile phones. Or refuse the medical breakthroughs developed in Israel. Or stop watching Sky TV. Or avoid online banking. Or...oh, the list goes on. But they are, clearly, not interested in facts, or research, only in sloganising and knee-jerk posturing.
