Good riddance

The Jerusalem Post reports that Board of Deputies member, Rebbecca Steinfeld, has been removed from her position after referring to circumcision as "male genital mutilation" in an op-ed article in surprise surprise the Guardian.
The New West End Synagogue, has thankfully rescinded Rebecca Steinfeld’s position as its Under-35 Observer on the Board of Deputies, a position introduced by the Board two years ago in order to encourage younger people to get involved in community politics.
The question is what kind of vetting takes place before someone is given observer status for such a sensitive position.
All the more so since we now also learn that she is a student at Oxford University, and a member of the virulant anti-Israel group Jews for Justice for Palestinians who as their name implies could not care a fig for justice for Israelis.
What's more not content with that she is pursuing what can only be described as an anti-Semitic doctoral thesis in which she is attempting to "prove" that Israel had a fertility policy in order to fulfill its demographic need from the establishment of the state until today. A case of making the facts fit the thesis.
In her research she claims that “Israel has established and maintained an ethnically selective pro-nationalist policy that seeks to simultaneously encourage a higher Jewish birth-rate and a lower non-Jewish one – specifically Palestinian-Arab – with the aim of ensuring a Jewish majority through internal population growth.” This libel stands up there with the doctoral thesis that claimed that Israeli soldiers are inherently racist because they do not rape Palestinian women i.e. it's not because they may have religious and/ethical or moral qualms about raping women but because they consider Palestinians to be unter-menschen. Her supervisor is none other than the self-hating anti-Zionist British/Israeli so-called historian Prof. Avi Shlaim which tells you much about her.
Hopefully Synagogue Boards will take considerably more care in future before appointing persons to positions of trust from where they can seemingly author anti-Jewish let alone anti-Israel diatribes while claiming to speak for the community.
