Is it really a national disgrace, to accept the fact that kicking a football, is just not the sort of thing that an Englishman does well?
We might be able to bomb Dresden. And we might be able to fight a fair to middling campaign in Iraq.
But when it comes to scoring goals in international competitions, there comes a time, when a sensible nation accepts its limitations and actually comes to terms with the fact that the team managed to get to the last 16.
