Apology to D Leigh-Ellis

August 10, 2011 18:38

I had intended to post this on the thread you started about CIF Watch with which comments I utterly disagreed. I regret and sincerely apologise if you found anything I posted either intemperate or personally offensive. Unfortunately I did not notice that you and not a.n. other had posted the blog about CIF Watch which I believe despite all the criticisms levelled at it provides an important service. Among other things it has shown that the Guardian devotes a disproportionate amount of its foreign reporting and op-eds on just one country - Israel much as the UNHRC and in common with resolutions of the UNHRC the majority are virulently anti the State of Israel. Furthermore it allows posters to post what any reasonable person would deem anti-semitic diatribes without moderation. On the other hand posts even mildly supportive of Israel are moderated without explanation. When I was at University the Guardian or the Grauniad as Private Eye wickedly called it was the paper of choice I therefore regret that reading the content of the present paper invariably leaves one with a very sour taste in the mouth.
