Winning wines to sip in the Succah

With so much kosher wine to choose from these days, it’s not always easy to know what to pick for the chag. Samuel Spitzer of Drumsticks recommends three wines that will make your Succot go with a swing:

articlemain

O’Dwyer’s Creek Sauvignon Blanc, 2016
A good value white that makes a great aperitif and an excellent table wine for meals with friends. It’s perfect with dairy, fish or pasta. It’s one of only two kosher wines from the Marlborough region and is full of the characteristic citrussy, gooseberry notes of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wines.  £17.99

Teperberg Cabernet Franc Legacy 2014
This smooth red is bold enough to hold up well with a meaty meal. It also has plenty of fruit flavour. Made by a winery set in the Judean Hills, it was Israel’s only gold medal winner in Decanter’s 2018 world wine awards. The beautiful bottle also makes it a very special gift, which can be drunk now or left for a few years to mature.
£59.99

Quevedo Ruby Port
A sweet, sticky port makes a perfect end to any festive meal, especially at this time of year.
It’s delicious with apple tart, with dates and even chocolate mousse. This mid-priced, non-vintage wine is packed with red fruit flavours of cherry, raspberry and redcurrant. Another lovely bottle makes it a perfect gift.  £22.99
