Diary dates for hungry foodies

Zoom into a range of tasty online events coming soon

How’s your nightlife? Mine’s never been busier.

I’ve attended cookery classes; Zoom talks, cocktail making, wine tasting and even the odd social event. I’ve interviewed food writers, Jay Rayner and Pen Vogler, as part of Jewish Book Week — a personal high point as I got to dress up and leave the house! And hundreds of people (and school children) have had a window into my kitchen to learn how to bake scones, hamantaschen and challah and other tasty treats.

If you’re not too Zoom fatigued there are some great events coming up – both pre and post Pesach:

Sunday March 21 (7pm)
Food writer Sudi Piggot, author of How to be a better foodie will be hosting an online quiz in celebration of culinary women and all women who love their food.

She has hosted a number of her Big Fat Food and Drink quizzes during lockdown, and this is the second Women of Food edition, returning due to popular demand. Tickets available via eventbrite.

Wednesday March 24 (from 5.30 – 7pm) Another woman in food — Rosalind Rathouse, who, 20 year ago founded her central London Cookery School — will be sharing her favourite Passover recipes for you to cook along with her. From her home kitchen to yours.

On the menu will be potato kugel; fried gefilte fish balls; traditional chicken soup;  kneidlach (matzah balls) and a hazelnut cake.

A great gift for those making Pesach for the first time – without the benefit of their Jewish mama hovering and helping.

Course costs £45 per log in and can be booked here.

Wednesday 7 April (8pm) One of my favourite women in food — nutritionist, Laura Southern, is giving a free webinar for World Health Day. Laura’s bright eyes and glowing skin totally look as if she practises what she preaches. And we can get a bit of what she’s having when she shares her wisdom on how to ‘Supercharge your 2021 with Optimum Nutrition’.

Something we’ll all need after Pesach has passed over.

Laura will be talking about how the right nutrition can make us feel our best and increase our energy, motivation and mood; what you need in your diet to feel good, and easy ways to include these foods. There will be lots of simple and practical tips and time for questions.

You'll need to book by emailing Laura at info@londonfoodtherapy.com

And watch this space for the next diary date you’ll need – a very foodie Yom Ha-atzmaut celebration with the JC and a panel of Israeli food experts. They will be zooming in from Israel to share with us the hottest places to dine out in Tel Aviv and beyond.
