articlemain

As GCSE results flooded in on Thursday morning, parental pride was at an all-time high.

At JCoSS, Maddison Giller, 16, said she was "so happy that all the hard work had work paid off". Her mother, Lisa Giller, revealed: "It has been hideous. I should have bought myself a tranquiliser."

Susan Murphy said she had been more nervous than her son, Jack, saying: "I didn't sleep at all last night."

Deanna Brandon, 16, confessed: "I was shaking this morning on the way to school." Her mother, Mandy Brandon, said "We may have been the guinea pigs at JCoSS, but we haven't felt it. The school has been amazing."

While Daniel Goldstein, 16, said he had kept himself distracted over the summer, his mother, Helen Goldstein, confessed she had also been "very anxious".

"He is my fourth, so you would think I would be used to it by now," she added.

Meanwhile, at Yavneh College, Karen Foreman confessed that the day before had been "the longest day ever". "The panic is finally over," she said.

Her 16-year-old son, Josh, added: "I was very surprised by my results. How am I going to celebrate? With food."
