Girls at a Strictly Orthodox primary school in Hendon need a more balanced secular curriculum, Ofsted has reported.
Although Beis Soroh Schnerer received the same grade as it received two years ago - as a school that “requires improvement” - inspectors noted that it had made progress.
While there was more work to be done, the leadership’s action plan to remedy weaknesses had had an impact across the school, the inspectorate said.
But pupils needed more depth in science, history and geography in particular.
There was no reference to the equality issues that have proved a problem for many Charedi schools.
Beis Soroh met all independent standards, Ofsted said.
Pupils learned about people and cultures different from their own and the critical importance of values such as democracy.
