When Harry Houdini (Guy Pearce) comes to Edinburgh in 1926, mentalist Mary (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and her young daughter Benji (Saoirse Ronan) set out to scam him. Ronan and Pearce are excellent, there is loads of period atmosphere, but Zeta-Jones's shallow performance leaves a dramatic vacuum.
