Internationally renowned folk-rock singer David Broza says he is “looking forward” to performing in London next week. The Israeli singer-songwriter has performed in Greece, South America and Australia but it has been “around 10 years since I last came to London, so it’s very exciting for me. I’m thrilled to come.”

Broza, whose career spans three decades, will perform numbers from his new album, Safa Shlishit, alongside his hits, which include Yihye Tov, All or Nothing and Bedouin Love Song.

“I tour all year round and I really enjoy being on the stage. It gives me the chance to entertain people all over the world,” he says.

The guitar-playing Broza describes his music as “general folk rock with Israeli, American and Spanish musical influences. It’s difficult to explain — you have to hear it”.

He is at pains to stress that he is “an artist and this is not a business. I’m very focused and spend my time performing or recording my music. I’ll be an artist for the rest of my life.”

Haifa-born Broza, 57, will be joined on stage by a percussionist and bass player. “I would like to return to the UK after this show and perform in other big cities, such as Manchester and Birmingham,” he says.
