Enfield eager to enjoy the full treatment

articlemain

Enfield and Winchmore Hill Synagogue members have voted unanimously for full United Synagogue membership, subject to US council approval in March.

The affiliated congregation has close-on 200 members and more young families are moving to the area.

During the 1940s, the synagogue building was used as a refuge for Jews who had escaped Nazi persecution. The congregation was officially founded in 1949.

The shul's acting chair, Tony Flacks, was "delighted that the United Synagogue sees the huge potential of the Enfield and Winchmore Hill community.

"The support the US has to offer will give us the tools to build on our strong foundations."
