Early risers Jump to it making £50k for Ort

articlemain

The 250 guests at ORT UK's 19th annual business breakfast heard how Ort Jump, the mentoring programme for year 12 students, has now been extended beyond Jewish schools, with the recent launch at La Santa Union, a Catholic school in Camden.

The morning featured media impresario Lord Grade interviewing Lloyd Dorfman, one of the UK's leading businessmen and philanthropists. In a wide-ranging conversation, Mr Dorfman outlined how he built Travelex, from one shop in Holborn to a foreign exchange group spanning the world.

The speakers were thanked by Noah Lachs, a former participant in Ort Jump. He explained how the mentoring programme had given him confidence; he was recently elected president of the Oxford Union.

The event raised £50,000 for Ort Jump.
