Woodford shul honours Lady J

articlemain

Woodford Forest United Synagogue hosted the showing of a film about the life of Amelie Jakobovits, affectionately known as "Lady J". The film illustrated the chief rebbetzen's extraordinarily busy life and her dedication to the Jewish community, as well as her ability to connect with everyone that she met.

The event was introduced by Lady J's daughter, Shoshana Turner, and raised over £300 for JRoots. Sixty people attended the evening which was held to mark the 60th birthday of Woodford Forest member, Pamela Rainsbury.
