Chief Rabbi Mirvis joins Young Jewish Care

articlemain

Young Jewish Care patrons applauded Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis at a fundraising Friday night dinner last week.

The event at Kinloss synagogue, formerly headed by Rabbi Mirvis, was attended by 150 enthusiastic young professionals and raised X for Jewish Care’s Holocaust Survivors’ Centre in Hendon, which has an annual deficit of £413,000.

Rabbi Mirvis commended the guests “marvellous ruach”, a sentiment echoed by Jewish Care President Lord Levy as he encouraged young singles to mingle at the event.

Young Jewish Care chair Steven Altmann-Richer welcomed the guests and said he had “grown up as a member of Chief Rabbi Mirvis’ community at Finchley – he is a truly inspirational communal leader and is already a great ambassador for the entire Jewish community”.

He encouraged guests to visit the HSC and described it as “a real lifeline for some of the most special people in our community”.

“We are truly privileged to be the first young charity to hear you speak as Chief Rabbi,” added Esther Janner, a member of the charity’s young professionals committee.
