Yuval Shany is a professor of law and was the first Israeli to be elected chair of the UN Human Rights Committee in July 2018#000d #000d He is also the Hersch Lauterpacht Chair in Public International Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Vice President for Research at the Israel Democracy Institute.
