Gwyneth Paltrow has been unveiled as the face of an advertising campaign promoting a luxury housing development in the affluent Israeli city of Herzliya.
The Hollywood star turned lifestyle guru appears in a slick one-minute marketing video advertising 51Park, a flagship luxury apartment complex set across two towers in the city, which is located on the Mediterranean coastline, about 10 miles north of Tel Aviv.
Depicting Paltrow waking up so early her “coffee needs a coffee”, the advert shows her jogging through a park resembling New York City’s Central Park as she describes how “pure energy takes over”during her run.
“There’s a reason the world’s most iconic buildings are by a park,” she states, before instructing her chauffeur to take her to 51Park. “New York?” the driver asks quizzically. “Herzliya,” she responds, “Israel.”
Announcing the advert on LinkedIn, the CEO of the creative agency that produced the advert, Why Worry, billed the development as “the next level of luxury living in Israel” and described the campaign as a “massive production”.
Gabi Attal said: “To bring this architectural masterpiece to the Israeli audience, we needed a figure who effortlessly embodies international elegance, a premium lifestyle, and uncompromising quality. Enter Academy Award, Emmy, and Golden Globe winner Gwyneth Paltrow.
“Filmed on different locations in New York City, the campaign bridges the gap between the world's most iconic park-side residences and the future of luxury living in Herzliya’s Israel.”
The 51Park website describes the development as “two spectacular, iconic 51-storey towers overlooking the idyllic Herzliya Park and Galil Yam Park” offering residents “the perfect blend of urban luxury and a green lifestyle”.
It is, the website states, a “perfect location” embodying “international style and chic” and offering everything one needs to live an “iconic lifestyle”.
Amenities include a swimming pool, retail outlets and cinema. The development is said to be compliant with Israeli Home Front Command safety regulations, with each tower featuring advanced reinforced spaces and access to underground shelters.
Paltrow, whose father, the film producer Bruce Paltrow, was Jewish, appeared on the US version of television show Who Do You Think You Are? in 2011. During the programme she looked further into her Jewish heritage and learnt more about her Polish great-great-grandfather, Rabbi Simon Paltrovich.
Last July, the Tel Aviv District Planning and Building Committee approved plans for a new luxury hotel in Herzliya Marina co-owned by fellow Hollywood A lister Leonardo Di Caprio.
