Two Jewish stars – Leonard Cohen and Carrie Fisher - won posthumous Grammy Awards at Sunday night’s ceremony in New York.

Cohen, who died aged 82 in 2016, was honoured with the prize for best rock performance, for his final album, You Want It Darker.

He beat nominees Foo Fighters, Kaleo, Nothing More and the late Chris Cornell to win the catagory.

Fisher won the award for best spoken word album for her audiobook of The Princess Diarist, a memoir of her time working on the first Star Wars movie as Princess Leia.

The actress died in 2016 after falling ill on a flight to Los Angeles.

Fisher beat artists including Bruce Springsteen, Bernie Sanders and Mark Ruffalo to win the category.

The biggest winner on the night was American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars who won best album, best record and best song of the year.
