A final Hollywood tribute to Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds was more of a celebration than a memorial.
Family, friends and fans packed the Forest Lawn Memorial Park to remember the Star Wars actress and Ms Reynolds, who died within a day of each other in December. There was even an appearance by Star Wars droid R2-D2 and Ms Fisher's parrot, a gift from music boss David Geffen.
The two-hour event was organised by Todd Fisher, Ms Fisher's brother and Ms Reynolds' son. "This show was designed to be like in our living room, as if we were all a big family having a memorial for two amazing people," he told the 1,200 crowd.
When R2-D2 came onto the stage, it stopped near an empty spotlit director's chair bearing Ms Fisher's name. Todd Fisher gave it a hug.
Other speakers included Hollywood star Dan Aykroyd, who was once engaged to the actress, and producer Griffin Dunne.
