GIDEON GALE (NL Raiders) - QUOTE 1 - "Winners of the trophy at the start of the season, semis of the Cyril, semis of the David Woolf and two wins off the title. So far it has been a magical season and hopefully we end of with not one, not two, not three but four pieces of silverware come May!"

DAN COHEN (Brook Farm Rovers) - "We caused Jewdinese loads of problems going forward and they knew they got away with it today. We’re looking forward to playing them again in the league and hopefully coming out on top!"

MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - "We are absolutely delighted to be in a cup final. This is why we play Sunday league football to have moments and there is nothing better than a final day"

JACOB EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - "Big shout out to SPEC's Ricky Lawerence for going in goal when his team needed him, despite struggling to walk towards the end. Still pulled off two or three top-drawer saves to keep the score down"

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:

CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP QUARTER-FINALS

NORTH LONDON GALAXY 1 OAKWOOD 4

A deadly double from new recruit Louie Basso saw Oakwood progress in a tie where Premier Division class told as they swept aside first division North London Galaxy.

The mighty Oaks got off to the worst possible start when top-scorer Josh Cuby was sent-off after just ten minutes. But two top-quality strikes from Basso, plus one apiece from Alex Lee and Daniel Seligman sent the visitors through.

Zac Rose fired a consolation goal for Galaxy.

Oakwood Director of Football Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "This had bannana skin written all over it but we dug in and applied ourselves brilliantly for our best win of the season."

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 2 MLFC BLUE 1

A deadly double from Aron Gale guided Division One leaders North London Raiders into the semi-finals of the League Cup following an impressive 2-1 win over Premier Division MLFC Blue.

WATCH: MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Proud Raiders' joint-manager Gideon Gale told JC Sport: "It was an absolutely outstanding performance. True grit, determination and passion saw us over the line. With 11 men, people playing out position, against a team a division above us, we got the result I truly thought we deserved. I couldn’t be prouder and I’m delighted for all the boys (especially the ex-Lions boys). Winners of the trophy at the start of the season, semis of the Cyril, semis of the David Woolf and two wins off the title. So far it has been a magical season and hopefully we end of with not one, not two, not three but 4 pieces of silverware come May! Having already beaten Fairlop and Lions in the trophy, we know we can cut it at the top and already working on how to be most competitive in the Prem next year!"

Benji Weinberger scored for MLFC, and joint-player-manager Max Kyte told JC Sport: "It was a fair result, and Raiders were far more clinical than us today. They deserved the win and all of their players were up for it when we only had 70 per cent up to the challenge. We wish them the best of luck with the rest of the competition."

DAVID WOLFF DIVISION ONE CUP ROUND ONE

BROOK FARM ROVERS 1 JEWDINESE 1 (AET - Nese won 5-3 on penalties)

Jewdinese will face North London Galaxy in the quarter-finals after edging past Brook Farm Rovers on a penalty shoot-out.

The tie finished deadlocked at 1-1, with Alon Pinhas striking for Rovers, and Scott Oldstein finding the net for Nese.

In the shoot-out, Reiss Mogilner, Zack Collins, Sam Stern and Scott Oldstein all scored for Nese. BFR missed one, meaning Billy Lee was one kick away from putting Nese into the next round, which he did with ease.

Nese boss Darren Lawrence told JC Sport: “We did not perform particularly well today and BFR could probably feel disheartened that they didn’t progress to the next round. We got cut open far too easily at times today and without Ben Halmer, it could’ve been very different. If we play like that against Galaxy in the next round, we will lose.”

Rovers' joint-player-manager Dan Cohen told JC Sport: "The boys put a massive shift in today, and it’s always tough to lose on penalties, but we’re really proud of our performance. We showed that we can mix it with the best teams in this division, and on another day we might have even won it in normal time, a mix of windy conditions and poor finishing proving our downfall."

DC Prediction: Rovers 1 Nese 2

DAVID WOLFF DIVISION TWO CUP

FC TEAM 1 HAMPSTEAD DUCKS 1 (FC Team won 5-4 on penalties)

FC Team remain on course for a league and cup double, but they needed penalties to see off a brilliant effort from the Ducks.

Ben Mesrie had put the Ducks ahead from the penalty spot in the second half, but an 88th minute equaliser from Adam Shafron took the match to penalties.

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: “We are absolutely delighted to be in a cup final. This is why we play Sunday league football to have moments and there is nothing better than a final day. Congratulations to Ducks - they are a great bunch of guys and nearly pulled off a very unlikely win."

Ducks boss Jake Summerfield told JC Sport: "We set up to be hard to beat and the game-plan worked impeccably. We frustrated the opponent and to a man, our boys were magnificent. It's a shame to have been knocked out at such a late stage, but gives us huge hope that the Ducks can push on soon."
