NORTH LONDON GALAXY 1 OAKWOOD 4

Oakwood got off to the worst possible start when top-scorer Josh Cuby was sent off.

Under the guidance of David Woolman for the day, Oakwood dug in and produced their "most professional display of the season so far," according to Director of Football Dan Kristall.

Two top-quality strikes from Basso, plus one apiece from Alex Lee and Daniel Seligman sent the visitors through.

Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a great win and superb performance, given the circumstances of being down to ten men as early as the ninth minute after losing Cuby.

"We have a proud record in this competition - having reached the semi-finals for four of the last five years. We are looking forward to using the league games as preparation for these cup competitions."

Kristall went on to say: "We have lots to play for and are determined to finish the season with silverware.

"Huge credit to Basso on debut. A brilliant free-kick to give us the lead and a fantastic signing for the club, showing we can still compete with the best sides in Jewish football in attracting the best players.

"Also huge credit to David Woolman who stood in as manager."
