In a below par midweek performance, the Lions found themselves two goals down before Austin Lipman halved the deficit before the break.

Broadfields restored their two-goal advantage as their striker completed a match-winning hat-trick.

Substitute Tyler Smith netted his first senior Lions goal but the visitors had to settle for defeat, with an inspired performance from James Harpin’s keeping Lions in the contest.

One other bright spot was a debut for Ben Long, signed from Welwyn Garden City.

Lions will look to reignite their promotion challenge when they travel to Hatfield Town this weekend.
